The U.S. Department of Justice Office of Small and Disadvantaged Businesses Utilization’s mission is to ensure that small businesses, including small disadvantaged businesses, woman owned small businesses, service disabled veteran owned small businesses and HUBZone certified businesses have the maximum practicable opportunity to participate in our work as prime contractors and subcontractors. DOJ’s major buying activities spent approximately $6 Billion through contracts with the private sector in FY 2010. Small businesses received approximately $1.73 Billion.

Additionally, the Department offers Grants to conduct research, to support law enforcement activities in state and local jurisdictions, to provide training and technical assistance, and to implement programs that improve the criminal justice system.
